HTC’s new Windows Phone 7.5 (aka Mango) smartphones, the Radar and the Titan, have gone on sale in the UK, as tech giant Microsoft gears up a second tilt at the handset market.
The Radar is available for free for a shade under £26 per month on T-Mobile over 24 months. Perhaps the pick of the contract deals for the Titan is Orange’s two-year £31 per month contract, also offering a free handset.
The high-end Titan packs in a positively tabletesque 4.7-inch LCD touchscreen (the largest ever on a Windows phone), 5.1 surround sound and an eight-megapixel camera.
Aimed more at the mid-range market, the Radar teams a 3.8-inch WVGA screen with a five-megapixel camera and comes in at a compact 120.5 x 61.5 x 10.9 mm.
Both handsets are powered by Windows Phone 7.5, meaning you’ll get the same tile-based user interface as Windows Phone 7 but will with massively improved multi-tasking and social networking smarts.
Mango also adds a swizzy new applications marketplace, local search enhancements and more efficient web browsing.
