Images and specs for a brawny upcoming LG smartphone have leaked online, ahead of the company’s new product showcase at next month’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2012.
According to PocketNow, the handset will feature a mighty Tegra 3 quad-core processor for some serious power under the hood and rock the latest Ice Cream Sandwich version of Android out of the box.
Sweetening the package is an eight-megapixel camera, a capacious, high resolution, 1280 x 720 4.7-inch display, an NFC chip for contactless payments and a secondary front-facing snapper for video calls.
To ensure there’s enough juice to keep that quad-core chipset ticking over, LG has opted for a 2000mAh battery, but have still managed to tuck it, and everything else on board the handset, into a svelte 9mm-thick frame.
A street date for the phone remains anyone’s guess right now. But you can almost certainly expect it to make its official debut at the MWC in Vegas in February, most likely along with rival quad-core Android contenders from Samsung and HTC.
