HTC All New One: improved Ultrapixel camera teased in promo video

HTC has confirmed that camera smarts will once be one of its next-gen flagship’s key selling points, as we count down to the handset’s official due date on March 25th.

In a clip posted on HTC’s YouTube channel touting the so-called All New One, we’re left in doubt that the UltraPixel lens technology that starred on the original One from last year will also tip up on its successor.

But that, we’re afraid, is about as much as HTC seems prepared to disclose.

The initial part of the clip features a purported HTC expert getting his friend up to speed with the first One’s camera by explaining its features in ultra-dry technical language. So far, so good.

But come the part a few minutes later where he details the new snapper, everything is comprehensively bleeped out by an effect that sounds not a million miles from the ringing drone you used to encounter when you tried to get online using dial-up.

Frustrating? For sure. Still, if rumours are anything to go by, the handset will pack a five-megapixel snapper with a dual sensor to let in more light and the same aluminium unibody build as the One. Albeit with a slightly tweaked design.

Earlier leaks suggest it will also feature a five-inch, 1080p Full HD display and a powerful 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and will come in a choice of silver or gold.
