Google Nexus 4 on hand

Would-be LG Nexus 4 owners can pre-order the latest addition to the vanilla Android-toting Nexus range now from Carphone Warehouse, ahead of the phone’s street date later this month.

The retailer is offering the handset for free on Vodafone and O2 on monthly contracts starting at £31 per month over two years.

As well as the Nexus 4, that entitles you to 600 anytime, any-network minutes and 500MB of mobile data per month with O2, as well as unlimited text messages.

Pre-order customers can likely expect to take delivery of their shiny new smartie on the putative release date on November 13th, Carphone pledges.

Unveiled last week, despite the cancellation of a mooted press event due to Hurricane Sandy, the Nexus 4 features the latest 4.2 Jelly Bean version of Android and a 4.7-inch 1280x768 resolution screen made from robust Gorilla Glass.

Spec-sheet highlights also take in an eight-megapixel camera with 1080 HD video capture and a 360 degrees panorama mode and a quad-core Snapdragon processor.
