Tesco Mobile is bundling smartphone contracts with three-months free BlinkBox Music membership and all the summery jams customers can handle, as a part of a time-limited promotion.

Under the terms of the partnership with Blinkbox, Tesco Mobile customers who upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy S5, HTC One M8 or Sony Xperia Z2 on a pay-monthly contract qualify for the giveaway.

Although Blinkbox isn’t a household name in the same way as Spotify, it boasts a pretty deep catalogue. Albeit one with the accent on big hitters over mondo obscuro guitar bands and hipster acts.

It also offers offline playback, themed playlists and latter-day mixtapes compiled by the likes of Chrissie Hynde, The Kaiser Chiefs and Kylie. And, rather less enticingly, Lauren Pope from Towie.

Simon Groves, Chief Marketing Officer of Tesco Mobile, said: “With the World Cup and wonderful weather on our doorstep the summer playlist is a vital addition to ensuring maximum fun in the sun.

“Our customers loved it when we teamed up with Blinkbox movies so this time we're joining forces to give away free music all summer long with some of the best selling smartphones around."

Tesco is running the Blinkbox music offer until July 20th, with monthly prices for the Samsung Galaxy S5, One M8 and Xperia Z2 starting at around £32.
