Virgin Media increase broadband and TV prices – uSwitch comments

Following the news that Virgin has contacted customers to inform them of the price rise it announced last month Dani Warner, mobiles and broadband expert at uSwitch.com, says: “These increases for Virgin Media’s broadband, TV and home phone services will add an average of £39.60 to customers’ annual bills.

“The changes are expected to hit about five million people and are likely to take effect in September or October.

“This is the second price rise Virgin Media customers have faced in the last 12 months, and the provider risks its customers seeking better value elsewhere rather than continuing to foot the bill for the network’s costly ongoing infrastructure projects.

“Affected Virgin Media customers can leave within 30 days of being notified without paying any early termination penalties and may find they can get a better deal by switching provider.

“Customers who decide to leave should contact Virgin Media as soon as they are notified that their bill is to increase.”
