The LG GT540 will be one of the few mobile phones making use of the Android platform that is aimed at those who are more interested in social networking than productivity.

The phone will be completely designed around various social networking sites and is designed to entice customers with its familiarity as well as the functionality provided by established brands such as Facebook, Twitter and Bebo.
Despite its youthful target audience, the GT540 will still feature all the standard smartphone functions, such as compatibility with high capacity microSD cards of up to 32GB in size, strong media player software and the various Android services, including GMail and the Android Market.
There will also be a three megapixel camera, although no official pictures of the phone itself have been made available to the outside world at this time.
After launching the mobile phone at CES 2010, LG said that it would begin shipping the GT540 in April, although it would not reveal its intentions with regards to pricing.
