Various key apps that help in making Android-based smartphones worthy of attention are having their Chinese launch put on hold, according to a spokesperson for Google.
Third party developers who have produced apps for Android have not been impacted by Google's decision.
Earlier in the week it had been suggested that Google had pulled out of an Android developer's conference in Beijing as part of its ongoing conflict with the Chinese authorities over search censorship.
However, a Google spokesperson told AFP that this information was incorrect and that there was no such event on the cards.
The Chinese launch of the Google Nexus One, along with two Android developer conferences are set to go ahead in Singapore, Taipei and Hong Kong during March.
