Fresh images of the long-awaited Sony PlayStation smartphone have appeared online, as networks gear up for a rumoured second-quarter launch.
The snaps, which were unearthed by Engadget don’t tell us too much that’s new about the handset. But the telltale Xperia logo along the button of the lower section of the slider does at last confirm rumours that it’ll sit alongside the X10 family and X8 in Sony Ericsson’s burgeoning Xperia range.
Especially keen-eyed smartfans will also notice cosmetic changes to the touchpad in the form of two engraved semi-circles, which we're far from alone in thinking give it an altogether slicker look.
Specs for the handset remain pretty opaque right now. But it is widely expected to run Android 2.3, AKA Gingerbread, out of the box and boast a five megapixel snapper.
The screen size is estimated to be around 3.7-inches or so. And to keep everything ticking over, it’ll almost certainly pack a 1Ghz processor.
