This year’s installment of the FIFA video game franchise will be a timed exclusive to the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, it has been confirmed.
According to Eurogamer, FIFA 12 will be only available on the Play this “holiday” while the rest of the Android family will have to wait on the sidelines until 21st February next year. Bah, humbug!
If you own an Xperia Play, though, you’ll be treated to a title that runs at silky smooth 60 frames per second, as the game has been specially developed to take advantage of the handset’s graphics processing power.
The audio, too, we hear has been given an added layer of bite to keep you on the edge of the on-screen action.
Of course, this is not the first time that Sony Ericsson has bagged an exclusive for the unofficially official PlayStation phone.
EA recently released a port of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 exclusively for the phone and just this morning it saw the exclusive release of build ‘em phenom Minecraft, and we suspect there’ll be still more to follow.
What good it has done to push sales of the handset is a matter of debate. But it would appear that if console quality gaming on your phone is your thing, the Play is looking an increasingly better bet than its peers.
