Watch, pause and rewind live TV
With more than 70 live channels, seven-day catch-up, a vast on-demand library and extra content to choose from if you get YouView with BT or TalkTalk, YouView gives you TV on your terms.
A YouView box can be bought outright for a bit over £100. As long as you’ve got broadband and good digital TV coverage in your area, you’ll be able to pause, rewind and record live TV and access a host of on-demand, catch-up services and Freeview for no extra charge.
Not sure if Freeview's enough? Check out our guide to what's on Freeview.
BT and TalkTalk also offer YouView boxes bundled with broadband and TV packages. Both providers offer all the above but add exclusive TV services of their own.
TalkTalk’s Plus TV bundle teams broadband and home phone with a free YouView box. Read our TalkTalk TV Plus Box review.
TalkTalk customers who want more content more regularly can add extra channels in the form of TV Boosts for a monthly subscription fee. These offer select channels from the likes of Disney and Sky and often bundle a host of similar channels together in themed boots, such as the Kids Boost, Entertainment Boost or Asian Boost.
BT’s YouView bundles stand out for their low prices, with the YouView set-top box provided free of charge. BT offers several different types of YouView boxes, depending upon which package you choose. Their basic YouView box doesn't allow you to record shows, so keep that in mind when signing up.

BT’s YouView offering is mostly marked out by the fact that it enables customers to access BT Sport for free until 31 July. After that, it will be available as a monthly add-on.
