TalkTalk has teamed up with FilmFlex to bring hundreds more on-demand films to its YouView customers.

The multi-year deals takes effect immediately, and gives subscribers to Essentials TV and Plus TV access to a catalogue of on-demand films from Hollywood studios, as well as independents like Entertainment One films and StudioCanal.

Recent releases like 'Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues', '12 Years a Slave', and 'Dallas Buyers Club' will be available as part of the deal.

FilmFlex will look after which films are on offer.

Films will be available to be rented for 48 hours. In future, it's promised customers will be able to watch films on smartphones, tablets, and other devices.

"We have big ambitions for the service and continue to develop and enhance our offering to give our customers even more of the TV and films they love, all at a great TalkTalk price," said Trisha Harrison, managing director at TalkTalk Consumer.

TalkTalk recently added the films 'Philomena' and 'Saving Mr Banks' to its TalkTalk Box Office service. To watch them, press the TalkTalk button, then go to the film section in the TalkTalk Player bar. Select a movie and press OK. Choose to rent it for 24 or 48 hours, enter your PIN, and you're done.
