The BBC Sport app has landed in the Roku Channel Store just in time for the start of the World Cup in Brazil.

The app is available on Roku’s streaming set-top boxes like the Roku 3, and the Google Chromecast-alike Roku Streaming Stick.

Sports include Formula 1, cycling, cricket, tennis, golf, and more. It also brings regional-specific sports for England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.

Viewers will be able to stream all 31 World Cup games through the BBC Sport app. It’ll also bring news, analysis, match stats, and live scores.

“Hundreds of videos are available and users can filter by sport to find the content they want to watch, including a dedicated filter option for the upcoming World Cup," said Ed Lee, vice president of content acquisition at Roku.

“This new addition brings a wide range of content for sports fans, including must-see sports events that can be watched live or on catch-up.”

The BBC recently unveiled plans to make this World Cup the first with ’24/7’ coverage. Plans include a daily ‘World Cup breakfast’ video with all the highlights, as well as match stats, text commentary, and automatic goal alerts.

The BBC claims this is 50% more coverage than for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
