the walking dead

Here's the first trailer for 'The Walking Dead' spinoff series 'Fear the Walking Dead'. It's pretty brief.

As you can see, it centres on the original outbreak that zombified everyone in the first place.

"Good morning Los Angeles," the voiceover says. "Hope you got your flu shot. Reports in five states say a strange virus is going around, so if you're not feeling well, go home, take care of yourself."

'Fear the Walking Dead' features two single parents – played by Cliff Curtis ('Missing', 'Trauma') and Kim Dickens ('Gone Girl', 'House of Cards') – and their children.

'The Walking Dead' is based on a comic by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore and Charlie Adlard. The show was originally developed by legendary screenwriter/producer/director Frank Darabont.

Its fifth series finished recently. Two series of 'Fear the Walking Dead' have already been ordered by US channel AMC.

'Fear the Walking Dead' will air in the summer in the US. There's no word on when or on what channel or streaming service it will air on in the UK, but expect a fierce fight for the rights.
