BT Sport Europe will come to Virgin Media when it launches this summer. The TV and broadband provider sealed the deal after weeks of talks with BT.

The channel is set to launch on August 1st, and will be the exclusive home of the UEFA Champions League and Europa League.

Full details of how it will be incorporated into Virgin Media sports packages will be announced "soon".

"If the football is on, we'll be showing it," said Tom Mockridge, Virgin Media chief executive.

"Virgin Media is still the only provider that offers you front row access to all the live sporting action at home and on the go."

BT will also launch Europe's first 4K sports channel in the form of BT Sport Ultra HD. It too will launch in August.

The broadcaster has signed up a host of big names to act as hosts, including Gary Lineker. Lineker will continue to host 'Match of the Day' on the BBC.
