Bingeing your way through all four seasons of 'Orange is the New Black' isn't exactly the healthiest way to spend your time, but Netflix realises that, and wants to help. It's posted instructions for its own DIY personal trainer gadget that can help you get fit.
It connects to your phone via Bluetooth, and knows whether you're reaching the activity threshold you set for yourself. If you're not, it pauses the show or film you're watching, and plays a motivational quote from a Netflix character.
For example, you can have characters from 'BoJack Horseman', 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt' and even 'The Crown' spur you on. (Having Queen Elizabeth II herself bark "I think we should start fast and run at a good clip" would certainly be an experience.)
Get back on track, and your show will resume playing.
The bad news? Putting it together looks like hard work in itself. According to Netflix, you'll need to be comfortable "building basic electronics and doing some coding." Which rules us out.
It's part of Netflix's Make It initiative. Its past creations include a Netflix and Chill button and a pair of socks that detect when you fall asleep and pause your show so you don't miss anything.
