Here's the first trailer for the eleventh series of 'The X-Files'.

The trailer was released at New York Comic-Con. It focusses on the search for William, who is the "special" child of Mulder and Scully.

In earlier series, William was shown to have alien-like powers. Scully gave him up for adoption once she realised she couldn't keep him safe.

Series 11 will focus on the duo's search for their son. The trailer suggests that his powers could prove pretty dangerous...

Gillian Anderson – who has played Scully since the show debuted back in the 90s – will make series 11 her last. Asked if she would be willing to sign up to another series playing Scully, Anderson replied: "No, no, I think this will be it for me."

However, she added that while the door may well be closed, it wasn't necessarily locked. So don't write off a return at some point.
