Netflix viewers watched more than 140 million hours of content on the streaming service per day in 2017. That's more than a billion hours per week.
The streaming service released the statistic in a look back at 2017.
The most popular day for binge-watching? 1st January. We suspect the New Year's hangovers may have had something to do with that.
Mexico had the most members who watched the streaming service every single day. While someone watched 'Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl' a ridiculous 365 days in a row. For some reason.
The average Netflix subscriber watched about 60 films on the service this year. Which is about five a month, or just over one a week.
Viewers chose to watch in different ways. Some shows (like 'American Vandal' and '13 Reasons Why') were devoured (i.e. watched more than two hours per day), while those like 'The Crown' and 'Big Mouth' were savoured (i.e. watched less than two hours per day).
Netflix currently has more than 100 million subscribers around the world.
