New comedy 'Dietland' will air on Amazon Prime Video in the UK. The series will premiere on 5th June – just one day after it airs on AMC in the US.
The show takes a darkly comic look at the diet industry and society's relationship with food. It's based on the novel of the same name by Sarai Walker.
"'Dietland' is a riveting series – and the timing couldn't be more relevant," said Jay Marine, VP of Amazon Prime Video Europe. "We're excited about offering our customers this brilliant series exclusively, alongside other shows that put strong women at their core, such as 'The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel' and 'The Bold Type'."
The series follows Plum Kettle's journey of awakening to self-acceptance while exploring all sorts of issues faced by women today, including patriarchy, rape culture, misogyny, and unrealistic beauty standards.
It stars Joy Nash ('Twin Peaks') as Kettle, as well as Julianna Marguiles, Robin Weigert, Adam Rothberg, Tamara Tunie and Erin Darke.
