Samsung Galaxy Y details
The Samsung Galaxy Y is a cool compact phone, teaming a three-inch TFT display with a two-megapixel camera. If you're looking to make the leap to their first smartphone but still want to ge on board with everything that's great about Android, look no further.
The best thing about Android phones like the Galaxy Y is the sheer range of apps on offer. Google's official Android Market is stocked to the brim with hundreds of thousands of great titles - many of which are totally free to download. And because there's everything from games to more practical business apps on offer, there really is something for everyone.
Better still, the Galaxy Y features an up-to-the-minute version of Android, so, combined with the powerful 832Mhz processor under the hood, it runs super smoothly too and means you'll be able to get more done when you really need to.
Elsewhere, you'll find a two megapixel camera that's just right for taking fun snaps. And it records QVGA@15fps video too for when you need to capture life's spontaneous moments on film for posterity.
Other features of the Galaxy Y include Quickoffice document viewer, the brilliant touchscreen typing app Swype pre-installed for fast text entry, an image and video editor, push email and handy themed hubs for content and functions that make it quick and easy to get to everything you need, when you need it.
Spec wise the Samsung Galaxy Y is an Android 2.3 Gingerbread handset packing a 3-inch QVGA touch screen, 2 megapixel camera, 832Mhz processor, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, and sports a 1200mAh battery and of course access to the Android Market.
With the new Samsung naming game, along with the Galaxy Y Samsung also launched the Samsung Galaxy W, Samsung Galaxy Y Pro and Samsung Galaxy M Pro, and if you still haven’t got your brain round the meanings of the new names they go like this…
