Details of what Samsung has in store for us with the Galaxy S3 have apparently surfaced online, as the countdown to its official launch begins in earnest.
Yesterday, Samsung ended months of silence over the follow-up to the planet-straddling, huge-selling blower that is the S2 when it trailed a press event on May 3rd that will showcase ‘the next Galaxy'.
According to an unnamed source cited by Boy Genius Report (BGR), the handset will come in blue/black and white colour options and will be unveiled simultaneously at a series of media showcases in cities all over the globe.
The source also corroborated rumours that the S3 will be marketed as the official phone of the London Olympic games, in keeping with the Korean smartphone-maker’s status as an event partner.
And, although there was no mention of some of the more leftfield features mooted for the S3, such as the highly improbable flexible screen and waterproof coating, we even got some specs to chew on.
Corroborating earlier rumours, BGR’s insider claims the phone will feature a quad-core processor 4G support, a 1080p HD display and will be up for grabs in 16GB and 32GB storage options.
