O2 has dropped the upfront fee for the Samsung Galaxy S3 on contract, as part of its January sale of pay monthly handsets.

The one-off cost for the flagship Samsung kit has been cut from £299 to just £99 on O2’s Unlimited Plus plan at £26 per month on a two-year term.

Aside from saving £200 on the handset itself – this entitles takers to unlimited texts and minutes, plus 1GB of mobile internet allowance each month.

The winner of many tech accolades, the Galaxy S3 is packed to the brim with cutting edge specs, including a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED HD display, a 1.4GHz quad core processor and an eight-megapixel shooter with full HD video recording capabilities.

Also on board is a whole host of nifty software features, such as Smart Stay, an intelligent standby function called Smart Stay that tracks your eyes to keep the screen awake as long as you’re looking at it and Pop up Play that lets you watch a video while doing something else at the same time.

O2’s offer is only valid until the end of the month and is subject to availability. So if you’ve been on the fence about picking up the S3 until now, we recommend taking advantage pronto.
