Samsung Unpacked 5 invite

Samsung appears set to launch its much–vaunted Galaxy S5 at Mobile World Congress (MWC) later this month. In an invite to press, also posted on Twitter, the Korean giant revealed its MWC Unpacked 5 showcase will take place on February 24th.

The ‘5’ part of the event's title surely leaves little to the imagination. Samsung’s Galaxy S4 gathering in New York last March asked punters to ‘get ready 4 the show’. So unless this is an elaborate ruse, chances are Samsung will gazump every other manufacturer in Barcelona with its new top–end device.

Adding fuel to the fire is the mention of a new ‘flagship product’ in the press invite. Seeing as the Galaxy Note 4 isn’t expected until autumn, the Galaxy S5 is surely the device they’re talking about.

Rumours have pointed to the Galaxy S5 packing an improved display, Android 4.4 KitKat and, most excitingly, an all-metal frame. That would be a first for Samsung and put the design of its popular devices up there with Apple and HTC.
