LG Arena to land on UK networks this weekend

The silver and black editions of the much-anticpated LG Arena handset will go on sale this weekend.

According to a report from respected technology site Pocket-lint, Orange will launch the silver edition of the phone.

Meanwhile, the black version of the LG Arena will be available on rival mobile phone network T-Mobile.

Tariffs and contract details have yet to be confirmed by the networks, but it is anticpated that the phone will be available on contract-only deals initially.

The LG Arena was first unveiled during March at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, where its good looks and rich array of features won it a favourable response from the industry.

Functions of the phone include a music player, five megapixel camera, large touchscreen, 7.2 Mbps HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, a 3.5mm headphone jack and 8MB of internal memory.

Marketing campaigns for the handset are expected to prominently feature its compatibility with T-Mobile’s music download service Music Jukebox.
