Virgin Media's mobile controller Jonathan Kini said that the HD2 would become the flagship smartphone in a new range of mobile internet and social networking mobiles that the provider would be using to tempt customers.
Mr Kini also said that he was pleased to announce the arrival of the HD2 on Virgin Media as it would be the first phone produced by Taiwanese manufacturer HTC ever to have been on the network.
A two year contract with monthly payments of £30 will secure new customers an HD2 free of charge and although details of the tariff have not been revealed, Virgin Media says that it will be very competitive.
The HTC HD2 is powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon processor and has a very impressive five megapixel camera mounted on the back, complete with dual LED flash. Given that all of this is wrapped up in an incredibly slim package, it makes the HD2 a striking smartphone.
