The LG Cookie Fresh GS290 is set for a UK launch next month, after being unveiled at the CeBit expo last week.
Pitched as an entry-level phone, the Cookie Fresh will pick up where the original Cookie left off, with a three-inch touchscreen display and a widget-based homescreen to allow users to customise their handset.
TechRadar broke the news of the April release for UK customers, which it found buried in a South Korean press release.
The Cookie Fresh will expand upon the capabilities of its precursor, with a 3.5mm headphone socket offering decent audio playback using your own headphones - an undoubted benefit for a mobile phone that will retail for less than £100.
LG is good at sticking to its deadlines and although there has not been any news published in English quite yet, the Cookie Fresh should soon be a feature of the UK mobile market.
