The HTC Smart, which offers high-end smartphone functionality at a low price point, is set for a UK launch in association with network provider O2.
The modestly sized mobile phone features the Sense user interface (UI) that HTC applies to all of its smartphones.
The UI has not only been praised for its user-friendliness, but also for its fully customisable layout and multiple home screen set-up.
Social networking has become a significant feature of the latest version of Sense, allowing users to have a unified window into their online lives, across SMS, social networking and voice calls.
With a 2.8 inch-touchscreen interface and a 300MHz processor, the HTC Smart is not the largest or most powerful of smartphones.
However, its credentials compare favourably to similarly priced mobiles which do not offer the same level of software functionality.
The Smart also sports a three megapixel camera and a universal headphone jack to accept the user's own headphones.
