Nokia is offering owners of its X6 and 5230 smartphones the chance to update their software via a free download, adding a number of significant improvements.
Major alterations and tweaks have been made to the web browsing software, the social networking elements and a few other features on the two popular mobile phones.
Version 7.2 of Nokia's browser is integrated with the update, as is the social networking service LifeCasting.
This combines with Ovi Maps in order to provide some location-based fun, letting users alert Facebook friends as to their exact whereabouts.
Nokia has also made navigating the various menus of the X6 and 5230 a little easier with the implementation of kinetic scrolling throughout the various interfaces.
The phones are now compatible with the latest versions of Flash and Nokia's Ovi Sync and Ovi Music store.
Nokia used its official blog to announce the launch of the updated software and users can either download it over the airwaves or from their PCs, synchronising it with their phones via USB.
