The fabled Sony Ericsson PlayStation phone could be unveiled in just over two weeks, an event invitation suggests.
An official looking handbill sourced by the good, good people at French tech site NoWhereElse.fr, which features the famous PlayStation controller icons, summons journos to what appears to be a device showcase on December 9th.
The flyer also makes mention of Sony Ericsson’s French head honcho Pierre Perron, who you’d very much like to think would be in attendance at what is shaping up to be the company’s biggest handset launch for years.
News of developments comes as Engadget last week unearthed a series of snaps purported to show the as yet unconfirmed debut PlayStation branded smartie.
If those images were real, we’re in for a handset that takes its design cues equally from the PSP Go handheld console, with a physical D-pad and shoulder buttons, and the mega-selling Sony Ericsson Xperia X10.
It’s also rumoured to run Google’s modish Android OS, a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 processor, 512MB of RAM, 1GB of ROM and a screen measuring between 3.7-inches and 4.1-inches.
