Shots of an LG handset that could be the sleekest, smallest Android smartie yet have leaked online, as the South Korean phone maker looks to turn up the heat on Samsung and HTC.
Somewhat pithily dubbed the LG ‘B’, the super slim handset is svelte enough that when shot next to the iPhone 4, Apple’s 9.3mm-thick handset looks positively cumbersome.
Specs are, alas, thin on the ground right now, but the handset reportedly packs a screen that makes the Galaxy S’ SuperAMOLED display look like a budget QVGA number.
According to Phandroid, it’s four inches in size and offers a positively blinding 700 nits of brightness. By way of comparison, the much-lauded Galaxy S display is 300 nits.
In the wake of the leak, LG has confirmed the existence of the handset via its Twitter feed. The Tweet also announces that the B is scheduled for its official unveiling at the CES tech expo – happening this year on January 8th and 9th.
