Snaps and specs of an as yet unannounced HTC smartphone have surfaced online, as the phone-maker bids to reclaim its title of the go-to brand for Android from Samsung.
Unearthed by Android Community, the handset, provisionally dubbed the Holiday, packs a whopping, almost tabletesque 4.5-inch qHD display – putting it broadly in line with the similarly beast-like phone rumoured to be on the way from Samsung.
Elsewhere, it’s reportedly home to a rear-facing eight-megapixel snapper, a secondary 1.3-megapixel camera for video calls and the same 1.2GHz processor that features in the HTC Sensation.
Availability in Blighty remains anyone’s guess right now, although the Holiday is expected to land on US network AT&T before the end of the year.
Intriguingly, however, the fact that the phone features ‘California’ emblazoned across its rear is being interpreted as a sign that the phone could make the journey over the Pond.
We’re not sure what to make of that. But we're happy to go along with Android Community's theory that it could be a mooted title for an overseas variant, given the allure that the charms of the Sunshine State has for yankophiles in Europe.
