Nokia has officially revealed that the latest Belle update for handsets powered by the formerly Symbian operating system will begin rolling out next week.
Responding to a customer query on Twitter, the Finnish phone-maker confirmed that Nokia Belle – previously known as Symbian Belle - will be available to download on select phones ahead of the promised due date in February.
Owners of the N8, C6-O1, C7, E6, E7 and the Oro will be able to grab the software update a week ahead of the rest in select markets, which brings an array of features and much-needed improvements to the ageing platform.
Standout among these is six customisable home screens compared to three on Belle’s predecessor, Nokia Anna, plus redesigned widgets that come in five different sizes, improved navigation, an enhanced lock screen and status bar, visual multitasking and more.
Keep ‘em peeled for more Nokia update news in the weeks to come.
UPDATE: We've just been informed that Nokia's Twitter post is incorrect. The update is still due in February, not next week.
