Apple’s forthcoming iPad Air 2 has been somewhat overshadowed by the launch of the company’s new iPhone 6 models and the ensuing hoo ha over the failures of iOS 8.
But with the new tablet due to launch in the coming weeks, new leaks are emerging showing exactly what we can expect from the device. The latest comes from Vietnamese site Tinhte.vn, which has snagged a dummy of the tablet and paraded it for all to see.
The model, believed to be used by case manufacturers to get their wares ready ahead of release, shows Apple’s plans quite clearly. There’s a Touch ID module, as per recent rumours and, interestingly, an easy slimmer design.
The iPad Air 2 is thought to measure just 7mm thin, compared to 7.5mm on the current version.
Look closely and you'll also see what appears to be a microphone hole at the top of the device, alongside another hollowed out area, presumed to be for a rotation switch.
Apple has confirmed it will be holding a special event on October 16th at its Cupertino headquarters, where the new iPad is expected to make an appearance.
