The HTC One M9 is available to pre-order in the UK today on Vodafone and EE, giving early-birds and HTC fanboys a chance to be among the first to own it when it officially goes on sale on March 31st.
Perhaps the pick of EE’s plans is £41.99 per month over two years, with a one-off charge of £49.99. That gets you monthly allowances of 1GB of data, 1,000 minutes and unlimited texts for new customers.
As a sweetener, EE, which has secured exclusive rights to sell the gold-on-gold edition of the One M9 for three months, is also offering existing customers who upgrade to the same plan 2GB of mobile data and unlimited calls and texts.
In a further incentive, if speed’s your thing you can get a 4GEE plan for an extra £1.50 per month. That gets you access to EE’s super-fast headline mobile internet service that uses Cat 6 tech to deliver speeds of up to 150Mbps.
Vodafone’s offer is priced broadly in line with EE’s. For us, Voda's standout One M9 tariff is £43.50 per month over 24 months, plus £19 upfront on its Red 4G plan.
Impressively, that gets you a whopping 4GB of data per month, plus unlimited minutes and texts. And you get free use of Spotify Premium, Sky Sports Mobile TV or a Now TV Entertainment Pass.
Vodafone is selling the One M9 gold-on-silver and gun-metal. And we’re guessing the gold-on-gold edition will make its way over once EE’s exclusive expires.
Unveiled last week at Mobile World Congress, the One M9 improves on its award-winning predecessor by swapping the M8’s Ultrapixel camera for a high-grade 20.7-megapixel lens and upgraded speakers with Dolby 5.1 sound.
Featuring a largely unchanged design from the M8, the M9 is also home to a more intelligent version of HTC’s Sense user interface with Google Now-style, location-specific digital assistant capabilities.
