Fresh Nexus smartphones will land at the end of the September, reports suggest, at a time when the dust will barely have settled on the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus.
According to sources familiar with what goes on at Google, the search giant will hold a press call in San Francisco on September 29th that will be marked by a big reveal for the LG Nexus 6 and Huawei Nexus 6.
Huawei’s device is reportedly earmarked as the flagship, higher-end device, while LG’s is cheaper and more compact.
As renders obtained last month by uSwitch Tech revealed, both handsets will feature a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, with the Nexus seemingly taking a leaf out of LG's G line of high-end efforts.
The Huawei handset will reportedly also feature a lavish build, a 21-megapixel camera and pack either a 5.5-inch or 5.7-inch display and USB Type-C port.
[LG’s Nexus 6](/mobiles/news/2015/08/uswitchexclusivelgnexus5rendersconfirmrearfingerprintscannerand52_screen/ will feature a 5.2-inch screen, a USB Type-C port and a 16-megapixel rear camera.
In keeping with earlier Nexus smartphones, this year's models are expected to debut a new, stripped down version of Google's Android software. In this case, it's Android 6.0, AKA Marshmallow.
Apple’s iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus are set to be unveiled on September 9th and hit retailers on September 18th.
