Apple has long been rumoured to be readying a blue version of its upcoming iPhone 7. And despite leaks this week suggesting colours would be limited to black, silver, gold, rose gold and space grey, it now seems a blue edition could yet happen.
Audio firm JBL has just launched three new speakers designed to work with major smartphones. One is black, another's white and the final model is dark blue.
Speaking at the IFA tech show in Berlin, a JBL rep said they believed that blue would be an "important colour this holiday season".
He added: "We think this will be quite a popular colour choice as a few more devices will launch with a similar colour before the holidays."
While that’s not definitive, it does add a fresh layer of credibility to a rumour that just won’t die.
Apple has a major challenge on its hands to try and entice consumers to buy the iPhone 7, with few new features expected.
A series of colour options could at least entice customers who want a new–look handset.
The iPhone 7 is set to launch on September 7th, when we’ll get official word on Apple’s plans for the device’s colours, as well as its updated camera and changes to the headphone set-up.
