Speculation is mounting that the Nokia N97 could hit the UK as early as March, according to reports.
According to a number of mobile phone sites and blogs, the handset will arrive on March 31st.
The speculation is believed to have been fuelled by an online retailer listing the phone with this release date.
News of its imminent arrival will ramp up competition in the UK mobile phone market, with most analysts expecting the handset to challenge the iPhone for supremacy in the smartphone sector.
Full specifications have yet to be confirmed, but it is known to boast 32GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot to boost this by 16GB, a touchscreen and handwriting recognition.
The Nokia N97 is also set to house a media player that is compatible with all major file formats and a 3.5 inch screen.
It is HSDPA compatible for fast downloads and is equipped with GPS.
