Virgin Mobile has begun selling the Nokia E63 phone on pay as you go plans, making it the first UK network to offer the handset without a lengthy contract.
The launch of the phone on Virgin also marks the first time that a 3G handset with a full Qwerty keyboard has been offered on the network.
Virgin customers who opt for the E63 will be able to get unlimited 3G data access for 30p per day as well as a free mobile instant messaging service for six months.
A representative of the network told Absolute Gadget: “Currently exclusive to Virgin Mobile, this deal is perfect for customers who want to stay connected to emails and the web while on the move, but don’t want to commit to a monthly contract.”
Features of the phone include a fully functional media player, FM radio and a two megapixel camera, as well as expandable memory thanks to microSD card compatibility.
Customers can pick up a Nokia E63 from Virgin for £149.99 on pay as you go plans.
Alternatively, Virgin is offering the handset with an 18-month contract.
