The LG Viewty 2 is due for release in the UK within a matter of months, it has been claimed.
Tech site Omnio.com reports that it has seen Orange’s release schedule for this year and that the eight megapixel cameraphone will appear on the network in June.
The site also noted that a further two new handsets are due on Orange in months to come, both of which had previously been unannounced.
These are the LG GW520 Calisto and the Samsung Preston, which are expected to arrive in June and May respectively.
Features known to be included on the LG Viewty 2 include a 3-inch WVGA touchscreen interface, a generous 32GB of storage space and a Schneider-Kreuznach lens.
Omnio did not reveal price points, nor whether the deal with Orange gives the network exclusive rights to sell the handset in the UK.
A June release date for the LG Viewty 2 could allow the handset to steal a march on the as-yet-unconfirmed third edition of the Apple iPhone, which is rumoured to be hitting the shelves in late summer.
