The highly sought-after LG GC900 Viewty Smart has begun shipping ahead of its official release later this month.
LG’s successor to the hugely popular, seven million-selling LG KU990 Viewty cameraphone will be available in the UK exclusively on Orange.
The new mobile phone stands out for its high-grade eight megapixel camera, Dolby sound enhancement technology and the incorporation of LG’s new S-Class interface
This innovative approach to handset control features a 3-D spinning cube that is intended to make navigation easier and more intuitive.
Other functions include an intelligent shot mode, video recording, DivX and Xvid compatibility for watching movies on-the-go and an impressively large 3-inch WVGA touchscreen.
News of the imminent launch of the handset comes as LG recently revealed plans for a 12 megapixel cameraphone, which is intended to rival Sony Ericsson’s forthcoming Idou.
Dr Skott Ahn, president and chief executive of LG’s mobile phones division, said: “We are continuing to establish our dedication to providing revolutionary cameraphones that set market benchmarks as the original Viewty did.”
