Nokia has unveiled a new mid-range handset dubbed the Nokia 6600i Slide, which is set to appear during the third quarter of this year.
The new slider mobile phone is expected to retail for just £175 sim-free, but nonetheless packs in an impressive range of high-end features.
These include HSDPA support for fast downloads and a concealed touchscreen that will enable users to take and reject calls without opening the handset.
Available in a choice of brushed silver or black, owners of the 6600i Slide will also benefit from a five megapixel camera and access to the Nokia Ovi application store.
News of the addition to Nokia’s release schedule for 2009 comes as it is preparing for the imminent release of the successor to the N96, the N97.
Touted as the manufacturer’s flagship mobile phone for this year, the N97 will be the first-ever handset to be equipped with 32GB of internal memory and will also offer a full Qwerty keyboard and GPS and Wi-Fi support.
