The successor to the hugely popular Nokia 6300, the Nokia 6700, will go on sale sim-free in the UK next month, it has been confirmed.
In a statement from the Nokia, it was announced that the smartphone will be available to buy contract-free from Nokia’s flagship Regent Street store from June 19th for £269.
The date will also see the 6700 go on sale on Nokia’s web site, which is already taking pre-orders.
Mark Loughran, managing director of Nokia UK, said: "The Nokia 6700 is set to be one of our biggest selling devices for 2009.
“Taking its style from our premium devices and incorporating expert functionality, it will redefine what is expected from a mid range device making it a worthy successor to the Nokia 6300."
Specifications of the 6700 include a five megapixel camera, HSDPA 3G support and a 2.2-inch QVGA screen.
The handset will also be equipped with 170MB of onboard memory, with scope to boost this by up to 8GB by adding a microSD card.
