LG has claimed that reports that its GD910 watch mobile telephone will go on sale in the UK next month are ill-founded.
In an official statement issued yesterday, the South Korean manufacturer denied that the phone, which is due for release in France within a matter of weeks, will also appear in the UK during July.
The company also rebuffed suggestions that the LG GD910 will sell for around £1,000 Sim-free.
First unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in February, LG’s watch phone instantly won admirers for its sharp looks, impressive build quality and novelty value.
Since then, however, LG’s watch phone has been beaten to the mass market by the sWaP Watch Phone.
Available now as a free mobile phone deal on Top 10 Mobile Phones from £12.24 per month, the sWaP Watch Phone is home to a 1.3 megapixel camera, a 1.5-inch touchscreen and an onboard media player.
News of developments at LG comes as it recently confirmed that its touchscreen-operated LG KU990 Viewty has sold over seven million units worldwide.
