Nokia is rumoured to be planning a scaled-down version of its forthcoming flagship handset release for this year, the N97.
Although available to pre-order from Top 10 Mobile Phones now, the N97 is not due for release until June 19th.
However, before the phone has even arrived in stores, a moderator on the Vodafone View forums has claimed that a miniature version is being planned for release on the network in Ireland.
The poster did not reveal specifications of the mooted mini edition, but claimed that it will be priced “competitively” with a view to attracting “a wider segment of customers”.
Touted as one of the most powerful touchscreen mobile phones ever seen, the N97 features everything from integrated A-GPS, a slide-out Qwerty keyboard and built-in Skype for free calls.
Other features include a five megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens, HSDPA support for fast downloads and 32G of onboard memory.
