The LG Arena
has been scooped a top environmental award for its use of sustainable materials and recyclable components.
LG’s top-selling mobile phone was named the European Green Mobile Phone 2009-2010 by the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA).
The panel praised the Arena for incorporating metal and glass in its construction as well as the small number of parts that go up to making the phone, which makes it easier to recycle than rival mobile phones.
Dr. Skott Ahn, President and Chief Executive Officer at LG, commented: "We design our products with an eye toward sustainability and this award serves as high-level confirmation of its eco-friendly credentials.
"LG Arena’s eco-friendly features directly reflect the company’s environmental policies. We believe that life’s good when it’s green, and we will continue to design eco-friendly products based on this philosophy. We will continue our role as a socially responsible leader in the mobile industry."
Features of the KM900 Arena include a five megapixel camera, 8GB of memory and 3G support for a fast mobile internet experience.
