Those looking to pick up the Nokia E7 this year may have had their hopes dashed as it might not be out till January next year, according to an online product listing.
Retailer Expansys is currently listing the handset’s availability as “Due Monday 10th January”, which contradicts expectations that it would be out before the end of the year.
The E7 was unveiled as the successor to Nokia’s popular 9000 Communicator at the Nokia World event this month. It packs a four-inch AMOLED screen that utilises Nokia’s new “ClearBlack Display” for better viewing outdoors, a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard and an eight-megapixel camera with dual LED flash.
Nokia describes the E7 as an “all business” device, which runs on the revamped Symbian operating system and benefits from integration with a host of business applications installed out of the box.
We were lucky enough to get a hands-on demonstration of the E7 and think it may be the answer Nokia is looking for to catch up to BlackBerry as the preferred choice for corporate users.
