HTC Desire S Android phone hits Orange

The HTC Desire S is available now on contract deals with Orange, teaming dual snappers with the latest version of Google’s Android OS.

Available free from £35 per month, the Desire S feature a five-megapixel rear-facing snapper and a secondary front-facing VGA camera for video calls and is powered by Android 2.3 with HTC’s Sense custom skin slathered on top.

Elsewhere, it packs a 3.7-inch Super LCD display, loads of Android apps to choose from and some of Google's best applications pre-installed to get you started.

Somewhat disappointingly, however, it omits the dual core processor that’s featuring on almost every other high-end Android smartphone this year in favour of a single core 1GHz Snapdragon number.

Nicola Shenton, Head of Device Portfolio at Everything Everywhere (the umbrella brand for Orange and T-Mobile), said: “Orange continues to offer the latest innovative devices on the market.

“The HTC Desire S will allow customers to enjoy the combined benefits of great functionality with a proven operating system for the best user experience.”
