The Samsung Galaxy Beam is coming to the UK and will hit store shelves in early summer, a retailer’s product listing reveals.
Sammy's phone, whose built-in Pico projector marks it out as something of a curio in today’s smartphone landscape, is listed on the Unlocked Mobiles site with a due date of July.
The SIM free specialist is offering the Galaxy Beam for £385. Assuming it’s also picked up by networks, and that’s by no means guaranteed, that ought to equate to a monthly price point of about £25 per month on free phone contracts.
As its name suggests, the Beam’s USP is a projector that enables you to throw HD images onto walls and other surfaces with a maximum viewing window of 50 inches across.
It’s also home to a four-inch screen, a five megapixel camera, 8GB of storage and a microSD card slot to allow you to boost capacity by up to 32GB.
Alas, the Beam runs Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) out of the box, but the on board dual-core processor suggests an update to Ice Cream Sandwich later this is a very real possibility.
