LG Optimus G to land in UK/Europe in early 2013

LG has confirmed that the Optimus G, its latest flagship kit will launch in Blighty early next year, as it bids to respond to the challenges of the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the iPhone 5.

The successor to the Optimus 4X HD touched down today on the phone maker's home territory in South Korea, sporting an impressive array of features, including a Qualcomm S4 Pro processor, a 13-megapixel shooter and a 4.7-inch ‘True HD’ IPS display with a 1280-by-768 resolution.

Elsewhere, you’ll find 4G LTE connectivity, a 2,100 battery to keep the juice flowing, NFC (Near Field Communication) support and a pretty generous 2GB of RAM to ensure it runs apps with aplomb.

"The Optimus G is a groundbreaking premium device not only in the history of LG but also in the smartphone industry," said Dr Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Mobile.

"With the Optimus G, users will be able to experience unsurpassed UX features that will allow them to perform tasks that really enhance their daily lives."

Sadly, despite coming to Japan and the US this year, a European launch won’t happen until early 2012, LG has confirmed.

"The LG Optimus G will be available in Europe from Q1 2013. European customer and country availability will be announced later this year.”

We’ll bring you all the gen as soon as we have it. So keep your hats on.
