HTC has shown off a new–look, plastic version of its One (M8) flagship phone. Dubbed the M8 Ace, it takes its design cues from last year’s metal-clad M7, with a curved back and sleek all–round looks.
Specs–wise, HTC has opted to keep things almost identical to the M8. That means BoomSound speakers, a five-megapixel camera up front, a 2.5GHz Snapdragon processor and a special power–saving mode for those tired of juicing up their handset every five or six hours.
The Duo Camera, however, has been replaced. The M8 Ace instead packs a 13-megapixel sensor, which will doubtless make full use of the capacious 5–inch, full HD display when it comes to framing shots.
More details are expected on June 3rd. There’s no word as yet on whether HTC will release this handset in the UK, but with the company struggling to improve overall sales, it’s likely us Brits will get a taste of it in the near future.
In other HTC news, @evleaks has claimed that the planned One (M8) Prime is being canned. The swanky version of this year’s flagship had been heavily rumoured for a summer release.
